Desire Vs. Destiny

You are what your driving desire is!!
As your desire is, So is your will!
As your will is, So is your deed!
As your deed is, So is your destiny!

Turning Around Challenged Programs

Presentation Summary:

68% of all projects have failed or are challenged along at least one of the three constraints and 21% of all project investments have been estimated to have become wasted – according to Standish Group’s 2009 CHAOS® report. If you are parachuted into one such project or program and are asked to turn it around, what would you do?

Why should we be inspired to carry the objectives of the program and own the turn around process in the first place? How can we identify the amorphous boundaries of the root cause of the problem and overcome them? How do organizations typically react to such situations and what alternative strategies are available? How can we inspire a frustrated and challenged team to reconnect with the primary purpose or program objectives to rejuvenate their motivation?

This presentation will articulate several ideas from the real world that will help answer these questions. At the end of this presentation, attendees will leave with:

  • Insights on the different symptoms of challenged programs and root causes that typically make a program falter.
  • Perceptions on default organizational responses for these situations and an appreciation for alternatives available to better address them.
  • An intense and burning desire to lead and inspire the turn around – even when they personally feel challenged.
